Extra fundraising money for little or no effort
As a football club Secretary for AFC Portchester that has 30 teams at different age groups in Hampshire and part of the fundraising committee, I know how hard it is to keep the fundraising going and the amount of time it takes to co-ordinate. The majority of the people that help out all have jobs and volunteer their own time to drive your club forward. What our company is offering is an additional way to increase your funds by selling books.

Community Cash Awards are grants of up to £5,000 to help young people set up a project that will benefit their community. What's the catch? Well there isn’t one! Anyone who is: aged 14-16 and is in school, but struggling; or aged 16-25, unemployed or working less than 16 hours a week. can apply. They focus their efforts on helping young people who need it most. The following are not eligible: Formal groups or organisations; Expeditions or overseas travel; Fundraising activities for charity; Trips and outings, unless they have educational value . An annual sum of £100,000 has been set aside in both years 2007/08 and 2008/09; of this sum £30,000 is allocated to the Clean and Tidy Neighbourhood Fund. This funding will enable neighbourhood projects suggested and supported by Community Action Teams to be implemented.
The Neighbourhood Initiatives Fund, and The Clean and Tidy Neighbourhood Fund will run from September – August. Bid applications can be made at any time during this period. However, the annual amount of money available is fixed and it may therefore be wise to make applications as early as possible. Applications made for amounts less than £1,000 will be processed within eight weeks where possible.

Projects must be of direct benefit to the residents of a neighbourhood within Fareham Borough Council area. Bids should normally be for funding between £250 and £20,000. Bids will be considered for the capital funding of projects only. Projects that have a revenue implication are unlikely to receive support.
The Council’s Executive Member for Service Performance – Councillor Cartwright, will approve bids for the Neighbourhood Initiatives Fund of up to £1,000. The Executive will approve bids of over £1,000 after taking account of comments made by the Council’s Scrutiny Board. All bids must relate to the corporate aims of the Council.
Of the £30,000, £10,000 has been allocated to support the introduction of a new graffiti removal policy. This will provide a small budget to equip the Probation Service with suitable materials and equipment to pilot a graffiti removal service on domestic premises, free of charge.
The remaining £20,000 will meet the cost of cleaning up abandoned areas of land and/or to sponsor community-led environmental projects to carry out neighbourhood clean up campaigns. (This Fund will not be used to finance the cleansing of any public land or to top up existing areas of planned or programmed work).
An award will not exceed £500 per application. The Council may also provide practical assistance to community groups in the form of gloves, sacks, litter pickers and arranging the collection and disposal of waste from a site on completion of the clean.
The Council’s Executive Member for Streetscene, Councillor Bayford approves bids for the Clean and Tidy Neighbourhood Fund.
